Prophecy BMX’s advanced Carbon Technology:
Prophecy BMX's advanced carbon technology is to optimize the construction of each BMX racing frame to give an exceptional strength and stiffness in selected areas that need it most but, at the same time, removing material in the areas that need it least. The target is to reach the perfect BMX racing frame in term of weight / stiffness / performance / comfort and only carbon technology can reach it in a reliable way. There are 4 important stages to achieve to this high-tech BMX racing carbon frame:
1) One piece monocoque frame construction
BMX racing frame needs a construction method that has the highest strength-to-weight ratio available. Some construction methods like lug construction adds weight and can be weaker due to the possibility of voids and pockets between joints. So only the monocoque frame construction as selected gives you a strong, one-piece frame with the lowest possibility of construction problems.
2) 3D composite product design
Forces enter a BMX racing frame from both the terrain (when jumping, landing...) and the rider (when pedalling, pushing...). These forces, push, pull, twist, stretch and compress every tube on the BMX racing frame in every direction. By using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and 3D simulation drawings, each carbon tube is designed to counteract those forces. So we are making full stress and design analysis to determine the best possible way to manufacture the product and our software allows us to determine any potential problems before any tooling is created.
3) Carbon fibers layout
The Prophecy BMX racing frame is made of many carbon layers (pieces of carbon more or less big glued together). As each layer has a fiber direction, each layer of carbon fiber used in our frames is placed in a certain spot and certain orientation depending on the direction of force on that part of the frame that engineers confirmed from the FEA. This gives to the rider the stiffest, strongest, lightest and most reliable BMX racing frame possible on the market.
4) Fiber types used
Many kinds of carbon fibers in the market could be used to make a carbon bmx frame, and all fibers get different properties and qualities. Prophecy BMX's engineers use TR50 carbon fiber, which is the one who gets the highest strength properties compare to all other standard ones. This guarantees perfect product strength especially with our special Epoxy Resin used from Korea that we have selected. The choice of the Epoxy is very important as well because it makes the stability of the product, increase stiffness and strength in different areas of the frames in order to improve impact resistance, especially near the BB and head tube. And to maximize 100% the efficiency of our carbon fiber and Epoxy resin , we have developed a frame in 3D ergonomic designed to give to the riders not only stiffness and light weight but as well more comfort to help the rider to transfer all his power and energy to the ground.
